Tiny TV, Big Fan Club

Tiny TV, Big Fan Club

When I released the Rainbow Retro TV pattern, I didn’t actually plan to make a mini version. The big TV felt like it had the job covered with its retro shape and rainbow detail, and it was such a satisfying project to crochet. But then the requests started showing up, and it became very clear that a tiny retro TV was something a lot of people wanted.

So I went back to the pattern and started experimenting. Shrinking a design down always takes a bit of trial and error, but after some tinkering the Mini Rainbow Retro TV finally formed.

Before releasing any pattern, I send it through a tester group. Testers crochet the pattern themselves and let me know if anything feels confusing while working through it. Their feedback helps make sure the instructions make sense in real life, not just in my head.

This group did such a great job with the Mini Rainbow Retro TV!

Below you’ll find their finished TVs, along with the yarns and hooks they used and a few thoughts they shared about making the pattern.

My favorite part is how easy it was to make due to the clear and concise instructions of this pattern. Seeing everyone’s yarn choices and color combinations is always one of my favorite parts of testing. The same pattern somehow turns into a whole row of completely different little TVs.

If you’d like to crochet your own Mini Rainbow Retro TV, you can find the crochet pattern here. It’s a quick project and a fun one to sneak in between larger makes.

Fair warning though…once you make one, a second TV tends to follow pretty quickly!

And to the testers featured here, thank you again for your time, your feedback, and your beautiful finished TVs.
