Santa Basket Glow Up

Santa Basket Glow Up

I’ve been running a little series on Instagram where I put all my patterns in a jar and pull one at random to remake. It keeps things interesting and gives older designs a chance to be seen again. Yesterday I pulled the Big Easter Basket. The timing was not exactly great for November, so I made it Santa themed instead.

How I Made It Santa Themed

The basket is giving Santa’s belly. Red body, black belt around the middle, gold buckle embroidered between the handles. Same shape and feel as the original. Just a straightforward color and detail swap.

I used Hobbii Honey Bunny Christmas Glitter in tomato for the basket and Premier Parfait Chunky in black for the belt section. The lining is Premier Little Bunny which gives a soft Santa-fur look on the inside. I don’t use this yarn often, so it took a minute to get used to, but the texture works really well here.

What changed

• No face
• Black belt section [R17–R20]
• Gold buckle embroidery centered between the handles

What stayed the same

• Same pattern
• Same structure

Make Your Own

If you already have the Big Easter Basket pattern, you can make this version with just these color swaps and one small embroidered detail.

If you make one, tag me @littlebabyrorycrafts on Instagram. I’d love to see your version.

Bonus: Want to Make Mini Version?

Easy! Just make the belt section over R9 and R10.
