Mini Cauldron Glow-Up: Easy Neon Crochet Mod
Share
My Mini Cauldron pattern is one of my best sellers every Halloween, and this year I gave it a twist with neon yarns. I usually use bright colors for the potions, but the neons really turned up the glow. Along with a few small mods, they gave my cauldrons a whole new personality. Here’s how you can try it too.
Step 1: Pick Your Potion Colors
Choose neon shades for your potion lids. Bright orange, pink, green, or yellow will make the cauldron look like it’s bubbling with light.

Step 2: Match the Inside of the Cauldron
Instead of keeping the inside gray, match it to your potion color. So if you make a neon pink potion lid, crochet the inside of the cauldron in pink too. This surprise detail makes the whole plush pop when the lid comes off.
Step 3: Change Up the Eyes
Swap black safety eyes for white ones. They give the cauldron a spooky, ethereal look and make your accent colors stand out even more.
Step 4: Match the Eye Accents
Normally I embroider a small “white” around each safety eye to make them stand out. For these, I matched the accents to the potion color instead. Green potion = green eye accents. Pink potion = pink eye accents. It’s a tiny change that gives the eyes a glow that ties back to the potion.
Step 5: Show Them Off
Line them up as a set, gift them with candy inside, or keep one on your desk as a quirky Halloween buddy. Between the neon potions, the colored interiors, and the glowing eyes, they look like a whole new design while still using the original pattern.
